About

Dr. Ramsis Ghaly

Board Certified Brain and Spine Neurosurgeon, Carpal Tunnel Surgeon, Professor, Author

Neurosurgeon

Quality medical care in the United States is becoming more difficult for patients to navigate and access. I would like to offer my services as a board certified brain, spine, or carpal tunnel surgeon for anyone in need of a second opinion, record reviews, and telehealth particularly to patients living in remote areas who are  in dire need of dependable neurosurgical care.

Dr. Ghaly's Practice

Dr. Ghaly has dedicated his life to the care of his patients.

“Working as a doctor for me is not just medical and surgical mission but a duty to help those in need.  I graduated from medical school in 1981 and became a doctor in Chicagoland.  My passion is  for helping neurosurgical patents.  I also teach younger generations. I’m so proud and privileged to have had the opportunity  to pursue my work”

what does a neurosurgeon do?

A neurosurgeon assesses, diagnoses and treats conditions that affect your body’s nervous system, which includes your brain, spinal cord and spinal column, and all of your nerves that extend from your spinal cord.

While neurosurgeons can perform complex surgery in your spine and brain, they often suggest nonsurgical or conservative care first. For example, if you have chronic back pain, your neurosurgeon may first recommend anti-inflammatory drugs and/or physical therapy. If your pain doesn’t respond to these treatments, your neurosurgeon may recommend surgery, if possible.

Areas of Expertise

Each of the categories listed below can encompass various conditions.

  • Brain Aneurysm
  • Brain Tumor
  • Brain Hemorrhage
  • Chiari Malformation
  • Craniotomy
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Carpal Tunnel

There are two main types of carpal tunnel release surgery: open and endoscopic. In both cases, the doctor cuts the ligament around the carpal tunnel to take pressure off the median nerve and relieve your symptoms. After the surgery, the ligament comes back together, but with more room for the median nerve to pass through.

  • Cervical Laminectomy
  • Lumbar Disk Surgery
  • Spinal Fusion

Neuro-Critical Care Management

Neurocritical care is focused on the management of critically ill patients with neurological diseases who require admission to an intensive care unit

Dr. Ghaly With Interns

I have been to 24 different doctors, all of them said there was nothing they could do to alleviate the egregious pain in my arm. Dr. Ghaly was the only that looked at all of the MRI / Xray images I had and quickly diagnosed the issue as a nerve avulsion in my spine. There was nothing surgical that could be done however he was able to give me injections that took my chronic pain from around an eight to a three. He was the only one that was able to identify and mitigate the issue. He gave me my life back for 3 years I was suffering from chronic pain that never let up and if my arm was touched or bumped it was like getting hit with hammer on the funny bone. Dr. Ghaly a Neurosurgeon and anesthesiologist was able to see the issue in holistic way versus a single specialist. He also has a deep care for his patients. I can text him personally and call his cell phone. I don't know any Doctor or Surgeon who would do that. He is truly a humble, genius. He has the highest standards for care and unheard of error rate. I refer to him as the Dr of last resorts he is the one that can help after you have been told, they don't understand the issue, or its just in your head, or do some Yoga for the pain. I have referred four people and all of them had a serious an issue and all of them are thankful for the work he did.
